Citizen Voices Empowerment Foundation (CVEF) Commends Presidential Call for Values Reorientation Committee

The Citizen Voices Empowerment Foundation (CVEF) welcomes President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recent statement on the need for a Presidential Committee on Values Reorientation and Change, as seen in a now-viral video.

The President emphasized the urgency of reaching rural communities with resources and campaigns that promote values transformation—while expressing concern over the lack of impact at the grassroots despite the resources available to state governments.

At CVEF, we strongly align with the President’s position and reaffirm the following:

✅ There can be no sustainable development without transformative leadership, starting from the top.

✅ There can be no true grassroots progress without local government autonomy, championed by state governors.

✅ There can be no lasting security without community empowerment, built on value-driven leadership and inclusive governance.

These principles are central to our work at CVEF, where we empower citizens with the knowledge, tools, and voice to drive positive change in their communities.

We commend this initiative and urge a swift and inclusive implementation process that reflects the voices of everyday Nigerians.
